BattleBots IQ and the Minnesota Precision Manufacturers Association (MPMA) proudly announce the inaugural BBIQ College Division Competition. This first of its kind contest will be held following the completion of the BBIQ High School Tournament in Minnesota on April 24th and 25. This year also marks the first joint production between BBIQ and the MPMA, who have forged a powerful partnership that promises to be the best BBIQ event yet!

The event will be held at the Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna Minnesota. Located just outside Minneapolis Minnesota, this spacious, 30,000, square foot venue will provide plenty of elbowroom for this year’s event. The closest airport is Minneapolis/St. Paul.

The BattleBots IQ College Division Competition open to student teams
from colleges and other post-secondary schools. A BBIQ College Division
Team is composed of the combination of the following:
- At least three (3) college or other post-secondary school students.
These student members must all attend the same college or
post-secondary school.
- At least one, but not more than two Adult Supervisors who are at
least 21 years old and are instructors at the same college or
post-secondary school as the student Team members.
- Optionally, two additional Technical Advisors at least 18 years old,
who need not be affiliated with the college or post-secondary school.
At this time, there is no BBIQ curriculum implementation prerequisite required for entry. BattleBots IQ is working on a college level program in partnership with colleges and universities.

NOTE: Robots must be specifically created for BattleBots IQ. Please review all BattleBots Rules and Regulations prior to designing/building any BBIQ Bot. Among other rules, all BBIQ Bots must use the IFI Robot Control Systems in order to compete.
College Teams must also review and comply with the BattleBots IQ Tournament Rules and Procedures College Division Addendum, and the BattleBots IQ Technical Regulations College Division Addendum.

Due to time constraints, competition is limited to thirty-two (32)
robots only. Entry is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

We realize that budgets are tight everywhere and we have done all that we can to keep entry fees to a minimum. Schools that have multiple teams will be given a discount on two or more robots as follows:
One team: $500.00 per robot*
Two teams: $500.00 per robot*
Over two teams: $100.00 each additional robot
*Each robot is considered one team. At least three students per team, no student may be on more than one team. Any school or qualified youth organization may have multiple teams.

Registration for the April 2004 BattleBots IQ College Division Competition closed. Registration closed March 15, 2004. All documents must be received no later than March 29, 2004 to be eligible to compete.

Pulverizers Yes, Kill Saws No...
For the BBIQ 2004 event, combat action will occur in the newly built Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association BattleBox. This Box was modeled after the existing BattleBots IQ BattleBox, and is 40' x 40' with a 36' x 36' competition surface. The Minnesota BattleBox will be equipped with student operated Pulverizers. There will be no Kill Saws in the Minnesota Box for this event.

BattleBots IQ Teams are solely responsible for shipping their BattleBots to the Four Seasons Centre. While BattleBots cannot be responsible for any shipping logistics we have an agreement from Associated Global Shipping that they will ship robots to BattleBots IQ for $0.65 per pound. All teams must include the following shipping label on the exterior of their shipping container:

Tickets for the April 22-25, BattleBots IQ - MMER Challenge will be sold day-of-show at the door of the Four Seasons Centre in Owantonna Minnesota. Tickets will cost $10.00 and allow access to a full day's worth of competition. Ticket sales and doors will open an hour before event time each day.
